Exhibitors included The Portland Hospital, Galvin and Galvin, Julia Boggio Studios, Childsplay Clothing and many others.

Rachel Stevens and Jasmine Guiness were amongst other panellists discussing current parenting topics, including ‘Working Mums’, ‘Beauty and Fitness’ and ‘Nutrition’.

Introducing Corby Tindersticks

by Kari Nyack

Since their debut appearance at Bubble London back in June, Corby Tindersticks has proven to be a real hit with bloggers, buyers and other professionals in the childrenswear industry.

This alternative world of colourful characters began in the imagination of Yorkshire born designer, Carly Gledhill. Corby Tindersticks is an illustration led label for kids focusing on clothing, toys and posters for design conscious parents that understand the importance of good design for kids.

The new Spring Summer 2013 range represents Corby Tinderstick’s largest range to date and is inspired by rubbish holidays to Blackpool and the even more rubbish British weather. The range is built up of 100% cotton jersey clothing, tactile felt prints and super squishy toys.

Carly states that each character has it’s own personality and back story. Curious to find out more about these quirky little characters, I just had to find out what they were.

Fred works as an accountant counting money on his big calculator for a local budget Supermarket. He likes to impress his friends riding his Penny farthing bike up steep hills before freewheeling back down. His favourite ride at the fairground is the tea cups.

Hip Hop Harold loves Hip Hop music, his favourite rapper is Vanilla Ice. On Saturday mornings he listens to 2pac and bakes cupcakes for his friends, he loves being invited to parties.

Minty Macaronie is a very scary little monster, named after the smallest sort of pasta as he too is very small. He doesn’t like Wednesdays and when questioned he selects Big Foot as his hero.

Ralph Raddish is a science fanatic, constantly experimenting with bunsen burners and various coloured liquids to try and find the cure to the common cold. on a weekend Ralph enjoys eating ready salted crisps and walks in his local park, feeding the ducks as he goes.

Nut E Smith works in a biscuit factory sorting the broken biscuits into large piles. When not working he likes nothing more than to partake in a jigsaw while trying not to get hobnob crumbs between the pieces.
So there you have it! The colourful characters from the wonderful world of Corby Tindersticks!
